Scott M

Senior Physiotherapist and QLD Team Leader Brisbane Gold Coast

Practising for over a decade, Scott joined the Pacific Health & Wellbeing team in 2022 after spending almost ten years working in aged care.

For Scott, his decision to become a physiotherapist came in late high school. Competing in triathlons, Scott started to get various injuries due to the intense training schedule and ended up seeking out a physiotherapist for help. From that first interaction he knew right away that this was the profession he wanted to pursue. Supporting others to achieve their health goals sparked a passion which is clearly visible in the way Scott approaches care for both participants and in working with his colleagues.

Scott’s clinical practice experience includes assessing and managing diverse client groups across residential, aged care, disability and mobile community-based, with clients needing chronic disease management, post-surgical, musculoskeletal and sports physio across the lifespan and all fitness backgrounds. While Scott enjoys working with clients of a variety of ages, having worked with the elderly for many years, Scott especially likes assisting seniors in achieving their goals. For Scott there is a particular pride in seeing the people he works with come to the realisation that you can get fitter and stronger at any age.

Scott is steadfast team member who holds the title of ‘plant dad’ in the office, has an irrational fear of sharks, an expensive addiction to snowboarding and is a generous leader, supporting the Pacific Health & Wellbeing team by providing clinical physiotherapy supervision. Scott’s extensive experience not only supports the growth of his colleagues but also reflects in the individualised and innovative way he helps clients achieve their goals.

A little known fact about Scott- he was a violinist. He even got an award! The award was for always turning up on time – not quite the award for his skill he was looking for but at least you know he’s punctual!
