Month of Movement Challenge

Month of Movement Challenge Winning Team Darwin
Month of Movement Challenge Champions! Team Darwin (not all members pictured): Mady, Abbey, Shelly, and Belle.

At Pacific Health & Wellbeing, we understand the importance of staying active, and we also love a good challenge! For the month of November, our team took on the ultimate test of stamina and teamwork in the Month of Movement Challenge, organised by our Physiotherapy team.

The team members were divided into groups based on location: Brisbane, Darwin, and a combined team of Gold Coast, Toowoomba, and Sydney. Each member could choose any activity they liked, from tennis and soccer to yoga, pilates, HIIT, and even running. Activities were assigned a weighted score based on their difficulty, adding an exciting (and intense) element to the challenge as it progressed.

The competition was fierce, with the leaderboard constantly shifting as individuals raced to rack up minutes, not only for themselves but also for their teams. In the end, the results were incredibly close, with only a 1.25-minute difference between first and second place in the individual category!

After weeks of pushing their limits, we’d like to offer a huge congratulations to the Darwin team for claiming the top spot! Their combined effort and relentless energy earned them the win. But the competition didn’t end there, special mention goes to Cynthia from the Brisbane team, who took first place in the individual category. Well done, Cynthia!

Here’s how the teams stacked up by location:

Some Mind-Blowing Fun Facts

To put the challenge’s scale into perspective, here are some stats that will blow your mind:

  • Total distance covered: 1,820.3 kilometres! To put that in perspective, that’s the distance from Brisbane to Sydney (928 km), and then back again, give or take 30 odd kilometres. Now that’s dedication!
  • Total time spent moving: 516 hours - that’s over 21 full days of activity!
  • Elevation gained: 13.277 km - nearly double the height of Mount Everest (8.8 km). Now that’s some serious uphill effort!
